OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

As you may have noticed, I <3 hair bows. So when I saw this on Pinterest (http://www.doodlecraftblog.com/2015/05/candy-wrapper-hair-bows-or-bowties.html), I just have to give it a try. This is a very creative way to upcycle and it makes some pretty cute accessories.

Supplies:

  • Wrapper (I used toy wrappers, but food/candy wrappers work as well.)
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon/cloth
  • Hot glue gun
  • Alligator clip
1.Cut both ends off the wrapper (top and bottom).

2.Fold the wrapper accordion-style.
2. Fold the wrapper accordion-style. If you are using a candy wrapper or other large wrapper, fold the sides into the center first (tri-fold) before you being accordion-ing.

You should end up with something like this.

3.Secure the middle with a ribbon or piece of cloth with hot glue.
3. Secure the middle with a ribbon or piece of cloth and the magic of hot glue. (Obvious tip: Be sure to actually get it in the middle. My first attempt was very asymmetrical.) You can bling it out if you choose. Be as creative as you want!

4.Attach a clip or see (my link) for money-saving ways to attach the bow to your head. (Those clips get expensive for those of us who are bow-obsessed!)
