A wonderful nonfiction picture book that tells the story of Estee Ackerman’s choice between celebrating Shabbat with her family and competing in the US National Table Tennis Championships.
Nicely written. A great example of choosing what is right for you. I love how supportive Ackerman’s family is while giving her space to decide what is most important to her. Great themes of following your passions, making difficult decisions, and being true to yourself.
Great artwork. I especially love the action shots and the colorful endpapers.
Includes an update on Ackerman at the back and where she is now.
A great read that empowers children to make hard decisions.
