A gorgeous retelling of the story of Chang’e and how she became the moon goddess. The story focuses on Chang’e’s courage, kindness, and love of the Earth, and her relationship with her husband, Hou Yi.
Well-told. The book wonderfully presents the tale’s action, romance, and lessons of kindness, selflessness, and bravery.
The artwork is breathtaking. Each page is absolutely gorgeous. Not only is the story itself beautiful, but the book is worth looking through for the artwork alone.
Includes a telling of the tale in Mandarin at the back as well as an Author’s Note explaining Moore’s choices for this retelling.
A fantastic picture book celebrating Chang’e and her selflessness. Simply stunning. Looking forward to more books in the Everlasting Tales series.
