A great graphic autobiography that explores Takei’s acting career, education, political involvement, friendships, family, sexuality, and activism.

Nicely written. This book takes on a lot of material and does not disappoint. A wonderful focus on activism and the joy of living as your true self.

Takei recounts many ups and downs, from the constant fear of living as a closeted gay man, losing friends to the AIDS Epidemic, and the fight for marriage equality, to coming out, falling in love, and being able to live fully as himself with his husband. While there were many hardships throughout his journey, the book ends with a message of hope.

Wonderful artwork that nicely captures the emotions of the characters.

A fascinating peak into a fascinating life. What a great read.
