Mai misses her father who went out to find a new home for his family. One day, Mama says they are going to go find Papa. But the journey is long and dangerous. Will they ever find Papa and their new home?
Such a sweet story with a beautiful ending. I adored Mai’s playful relationship with her Papa and her mother’s bravery and support throughout their difficult journey together.
Includes an Author’s Note and Artist’s Note at the end about their own experiences coming to America.
A wonderful book showing the hardships of traveling to a new country and the joy of uniting with loved ones.
