Another fascinating collection.
In the second volume, Lucia starts her mage apprenticeship, Modeus learns more about the complicated world of humans, and Lady Kirsi makes a breakthrough in her relationship with King Reimund. But recent events have opened Lucia’s eyes and she makes her question whether what she thought she knew of the world is true.
I love the characters in this so much. Modeus and Lucia are absolutely adorable. It was also nice to see more of Kirsi and Lucia’s relationship.
As a heads-up to those who may be sensitive to it, the group goes on a hunting trip in this volume, resulting in the injury and death of animals.
The bonus story continues Peres and Baynard’s tale started in the first book. After that cliffhanger ending, it was a soothing balm of adorableness.
Really looking forward to the next volume.
