Started reading this on Webtoon and am so happy to see it now as a graphic novel.
Best friends, Princess Sapphia and Prince August, have a secret. They’re both gay and have no interest in the suitors their parents line up for them. So they hatch a plan to marry each other so they can pursue their own romantic interests.
The characters are fantastic. I love them all. They are so sweet and messy and funny and adorable. I love how they formed an unlikely friend group.
The story itself is humorous and fun.
The artwork is gorgeous with wonderfully bright colors. Because it was originally a webcomic, I felt like some of the panels were blurry or out of focus when blown up for the graphic novel. But they are all still enjoyable.
The backmatter includes early concept art, fun illustrations featuring the main group of characters, and a look at an earlier version of August and Sapphia’s first meeting. It was really fun to see how the characters changed and developed throughout the design process.
Such a great book and a very fun read. I really enjoyed revisiting this story.
This one ends on an interesting cliffhanger. Can’t wait to read the next volume.
