“Books won’t change who you are. But they might make you think and feel, question and wonder, learn and grow. Books allow us to discover who we are, and they give us the opportunity to appreciate and respect others, too. You could say books help us write our own stories.”

A heartfelt tale about book bans, censorship, and the freedom to read.

The only thing Book loves more than her comfy shelf at the library is when a reader checks her out. But one day, when she’s returned to the library, she isn’t placed back on her shelf. Instead, she’s put in a dark room with no readers. All around her are banned books that no one is aloud to read. Luckily, her best reader friend notices her absence and decides to do something about it.

The story taking the perspective on the book was really fun and engaging. I really love that the kids get together to make their voices heard and protect their right to read the books they want. They make signs and even call the school board to show their concern.

The artwork is wonderful. Loved the different personalities the banned books take on based on their content.

Includes a short Message from the Author at the back about book bans and the power of books.

Such a sweet read.
