A cute story. Beto wants to have a tea party, but his sister Cora longs for a pirate adventure. To get her to attend his party, Beto makes Cora a treasure map. But he soon learns there is more to a map than a start and a finish point. Through trial and error, he helps Cora find the party using landmarks, turns, and orientation.
Cute illustrations. Bright and colorful. They really draw the reader in.
Focuses on very basic map techniques as well as perspective. Also works in themes of patience, persistence, and cooperation.
The text incorporates some words in Spanish. These words are included in the glossary at the end with a translation and pronunciation guide. There is also an Author’s Note at the back about working together and collaboration as well as map related activities.
A fun story that works in basic concepts of making and following maps. A sweet little adventure.
