A sweet picture book following Harper’s first family reunion. There she connects with family members she already knows and meets those she hadn’t met before. She learns about different types of families and how people can look different and even have different last names but still be family.
The story itself follows Harper and Noah’s logic that family are the people you live with. It was sweet and humorous to see them try to figure out where a family so large could live. As they traverse the family reunion, they learn what really makes a family.
A fun exploration of family relations such as grandparents, aunts, second cousins, and first cousins twice removed. Also shows different types of families including grandparents raising their grandchildren and families with foster children.
Lovely illustrations. I really enjoyed all of the little details and the bright and cheerful colors.
A wonderful story of family and the love that connects them. Beautiful messages about how family members can look different, live near or far, and have different skills, but all still be family.
