Just when Penelope thinks she’s getting the hang of hard more, more obstacles appear in her path. In this volume her relationships with her brothers become rocky and she has another encounter with the dangerous and unpredictable Callisto.

An interesting volume with some intriguing story elements. The artwork is amazing as always.

The Eckles storyline still doesn’t really work for me. While I like Eckles as a character, his slave status and doglike obedience to Penelope is a troupe I could do without. Eckles is presented as quite content with his situation and in debt to Penelope for “rescuing” him. Not a fan of the power dynamics at play.

It was interesting to see the changing relationships between Penelope and her brothers as they work through some offences from the past.

Overall, another interesting volume. Interested to see how it progresses though I could do without the slave plotline.
