Through a narrow alley in Kyoto lies the Nakagyō Kokoro Clinic for the Soul, rumored to help you with what you’re struggling with in life. All you have to do is find it and open the door. Follow a collection of people as they seek out the clinic and find what is missing in their lives.

I didn’t enjoy this as much as I expected. Most of the stories weren’t strongly connected so I didn’t feel very invested in the characters. We only get to meet most of them briefly. There were some cute moments but I never fully connected with the characters.

I was intrigued by the premise of the mysterious clinic and it certainly gets stranger the closer you get.

The book does delve into some dark subject matter including lost cats as well as the neglect and death of cats. Honestly, bad things happening to cats kind of ruins a book for me so I don’t think I’ll read any more in this series.

Okay read with a unique premise. Had some touching moments but I was never fully invested in this one.
