I was initially drawn in by the mysterious title and the gorgeous color palette, but this story was not for me. It somehow feels like it dragged out while also being underdeveloped. It’s like the start of a story. There were aspects of greed/pride, poverty, grief, and friendship that could have been developed but didn’t have the chance to go anywhere.

Once the rabbit detail was introduced, the book completely lost me and I almost didn’t finish it.

I did love the illustrations. The colors worked really well.

But I did not like the story. Disappointed because it had some interesting aspects, but they felt so underutilized.
