Supplies:
- Cardboard box
- Cloth (optional)
- Hot glue gun and glue
- Scissors
- Paint and paintbrush (optional)
- Magazine tubes (find out how to make them here)
- Marker/pen (optional)
- First, you’ll have to make a bunch of magazine tubes. This design is nice, because you can use some of the scrap pieces you may have leftover from something else.
- If you wish, you can cover the inside of your basket with cloth (I used an old T-shirt). Just secure it with hot glue and you are ready to go.
- To make things easier, you can divide the sides of your box into horizontal sections using a marker. This will help when placing the magazine tubes so you know how far each one should go.
- Begin to cover the outside of your box, alternating which way each row slants. When cutting pieces, I cut the ends diagonally so they fit nicely against one another.

5. Continue around each side of your box. You can glue longer magazine tubes along the edges of your box to make a border.

6. If you would like, you can even cover the bottom. For this, I added a few shorter pieces together to make them long enough to span across the bottom of the box. To do this, I inserted the thinner end of one tube into the thicker end of another and glued them onto the bottom of the box.

7. Once your box is covered, you can either leave it how it is or add a few coats of paint to give it a uniform look. I used brown paint and a finishing layer of Mod Podge to give it a fake wicker look.
