A fun, quick read about the origins of Hanukkah complete with adventure and time travel. Reminiscent of the Magic Treehouse books.
All Devorah and Benjamin want to do is open their Hanukkah presents. But they’re in for a surprise when their family gives them an old dreidel, which transports them on a time-traveling adventure.
Told in short chapters with black-and-white illustrations, this is a nice read for the holiday season. Goes through this history of Hanukkah, highlighting specific events such as the Maccabees rebelling against Antiochus, important battles, and finding the oil to rededicate the Temple.
A fun blend of history and adventure that brings the story of Hanukkah to life.
