This graphic novel spin-off picks up where the show left off. Aang and Katara are getting all cutesy, giving Sokka major “oogies”. Toph has started a school for metalbending. And Zuko has become the new Fire Lord, establishing the Harmony Restoration Movement to remove Fire Nation colonies from the Earth Nation. But as removal begins, Zuko sees restoring peace isn’t quite a clear-cut as he thought and Aang worries he will have to keep a deadly promise he once made to Zuko.

As with the show, it’s a nice blend of humor, adventure, and social commentary. It was fun to revisit some favorite characters.

The premise itself is really interesting. Zuko was always a favorite for me watching the show, so seeing him figuring out how to be a Fire Lord was fascinating. It really delivers on the same style of moral dilemmas that were popular in the show.

Nice artwork.

Overall, I liked it. Though I do side with Sokka and his disdain for Aang and Katara’s “oogies”-inducing use of the word “sweetie”.
