This book has no pictures and it doesn’t need them. A humorous read aloud filled with silly noises, meta humor, and fun fonts sure to insight laughter and engagement. Novak forces adults to not take themselves so seriously and play up the text when reading to children. Some of my best memories as a child were being read to and the funny voices the readers would do. This serves as a great script for how to read in an engaging way, even when there aren’t pictures to distract from listening.
I’m often hesitant of “celebrity” books, but B. J. Novak is hilarious and a wonderful writer. A splendid read. Great humor and fun.
Also love the irony of this having to be shelved at the library with the picture books even though there are no pictures.
