Another fun adventure featuring the Trenchcoat Twins. Mary-Kate and Ashley are back at Camp Pom-Pom. This time they’re competing with their squad, the Eagles, in the Cheerlympics against the Pirates from Camp Spirit. With Ashley as captain, they know their routines are great and that they’ve got a good chance of winning. That is, until the Pirates start doing the exact same routines. The twins will have to figure out who is stealing their routines and find enough proof to back up their accusation.
I’ve been really enjoying revisiting this series as an adult. I don’t think I ever read this one specifically as a kid.
A great low-stakes mystery with nice themes of not jumping to conclusions, forgiveness, and having fun during competitions.
Nicely written. Plenty of twists and turns to keep readers engaged as they try to piece together the clues. I don’t think I was ever able to solve a case as a kid but the solutions seem pretty obvious as an adult. It was still fun to think through each suspect’s motive, look for hidden clues, and put it all together.
Such a fun series. Looking forward to (re)reading more.
