The Trenchcoat Twins are off to Camp Wishing Well, but things are already off to a rocky start. Snacks around camp have gone missing and Mary-Kate is the prime suspect. The twins must gather the clues and catch the real culprit to clear Mary-Kate’s name before she’s sent home.
I’ve really enjoyed reading this series again. I loved it as a kid. I don’t think I ever read this one specifically.
An engaging mystery that is nicely written. I like that this is written in a way that ties it into the rest of the series but can easily be read as a standalone. Mary-Kate notes this is their second time at a camp (after their adventures in the fourth book, The Case of the Haunted Camp).
I remember being so frustrated as a kid that I could never solve the mysteries in this series, but as an adult the solutions seem pretty obvious. This one still has a bunch of twists and turns to throw you off the trail which was fun.
Didn’t love how much everyone pokes fun at Tim for how much food he eats. He plays it off well but would be worth a conversation with modern readers.
A fun little mystery. I’m really enjoying rereading the series and reading some of them that I missed as a kid.
