A stunning follow-up to Sheets. This one wonderfully captures some of the hardships of growing up female with crush confusion, toxic friendships, and the pressure to fit in. Despite such difficulties, it is filled with hope, kindness, empathy, supportive friendship, and the little moments that bring joy. It shows the power of doing the right thing, standing up to others, and owning up to your own mistakes.

As with the first book, this one deals with some heavy issues including bullying, loneliness, and suicidal thoughts. I love that each of these issues was handled with care, especially the last one. The representation feels authentic without being overly dramatized for entertainment. Thummler presents a relatable situation and provides a voice for such feelings, paired with a supportive environment to get help.

The book itself is stunning. Same gorgeous art style as the first one with a beautiful, muted color scheme and fantastic details.

I loved this book. Despite trying to take my time to enjoy the visuals, I still finished this in a day because I did not want to put it down. Such a wonderful series.
