Delightfully creepy.
When Buddy gets a job in the animation department at Joey Drew Studios, he thinks all his dreams have come true. But there’s something weird going on at the company. Joey Drew is hiding something. There’s rumors of a strange machine and something’s not quite right about all that ink.
The story serves as a prequel to the world of the game, showing some backstory into the creation of the Ink Demon and one of the physically-formed characters from the original Bendy cartoons.
I didn’t find it as creepy as the video game but there are definitely some unsettling moments.
Great artwork. The color scheme worked well and I enjoyed the art style.
Some of the panels didn’t quite flow, which threw off the pacing for me at times.
Overall, an interesting story. I may go back and read the novel this is based on, because some scenes felt underdeveloped in the adaptation. I’d be interested to see if they are more fleshed out in the novel.
