A sweet book with straightforward text and wonderful illustrations centered around body neutrality. A wonderful exploration of what bodies can do and how people use their bodies everyday.

Bodies are described in terms of how they look and feel, their different needs, and what they do in neutral terms. The illustrations really make the simple words shine. Throughout there are people with different skin tones including vitiligo, heights, ages, body sizes, hair textures and styles, and clothing including people wearing hijabs and patkas.

Various disabilities are also incorporated with characters using prosthetic limbs, canes, wheelchairs, seeing eye dogs, sign language, hearing aids, and cochlear implants. Sensory needs are also shown. Neurodiverse and disabled characters are shown doing a variety of activities including playing baseball, dancing, visiting museums, and going to school.

I especially enjoyed this book’s presentation of different body sizes, including large bodies. The illustrations show bodies of different sizes and shapes including pregnant bodies, large stomachs, rolls, and cellulite. Fat people are shown in different contexts and doing various things including dancing, chatting with friends, roller skating, and visiting the aquarium.

At the back, there is a note on body neutrality and different ways of practicing it.

Simple text and diverse illustrations. A nice read for talking about body neutrality, body image, and the ways bodies are different.
