I received an ARC of this book from Goodreads in exchange for an honest review.

I could not put this book down. Every page left me craving more. Chapter after chapter flew by and still I was not satisfied until I had reached the end. I was hooked from page one.

Blaedel is an excellent writer (from what I can tell from this translation). Good descriptions, amazing plot. This was a very good novel.

I enjoyed how most of the book was dedicated to the case with a little bit of personal stuff to remind you that Louise is still a human and not a crime-fighting machine. I hate crime fiction where you learn more about the character’s personal life than you do about the case they are supposed to be solving. This book has a good balance.

This is the seventh book in the series, but it still works as a stand alone. I haven’t read any of the others yet, but based on this one, I would love to go back and read the rest (if I could only find the first one translated to English).

I would definitely recommend this novel.
