Another fun Hilda tie-in.

While I’d love this series to go more in-depth into the world we see in the show and the original comic, these books are not set up that way. Instead they combine episodes, creatively incorporating the plots together to make one continuous story. That isn’t necessarily bad; it’s just something that’s helpful to know going into them. It’s fun to see how the details are strung together and incorporated across the events of each episode.

This one is a combination of episodes 6, 11, 12, and 13, with a minor reference to some events in episode 4. Because of that, there is quite a lot going on in this one. Things are pretty fast paced and a lot is accomplished in a relatively short amount of time.

As with the previous books, the writing was good and the adventures were engaging. The artwork is simple, but lovely, nicely contributing to the events described in the narration.

Definitely enjoying this series for a new take on the events that occur in the show. Excited to see how the events of season 2 are incorporated.
