This is all around a touching and wholesome story. While Mommy leaves on a work trip, the main character stays home with Mama. They go about their daily routines, but things are a little different without Mommy.

Works well for discussing missing someone and waiting for them to come back. Also nicely shows how you can miss someone, but also feel awkward and shy when you see them again. Works in expressing bodily autonomy and boundaries as well.

The artwork is absolutely stunning. Loved the gentle palette and the inviting details of the family’s community as they visit coffee shops, go grocery shopping, and go about their days.

A sweet, gentle story full of heart.
