A unique retelling of Little Women featuring the Mane 6. There is plenty of pony humor, fourth wall breaks, and shenanigans in this retelling. As a My Little Pony fan and lover of literature in general, it was fun to read this mashup and see a pony version of the classic.
Would recommend having read the original book or at least having watched a film version of the story before going into this. It reenacts many of the important scenes, making its own changes along the way.
There were some really fun details in this reimagining such as Jo and Laurie’s alter egos in their stories being Rainbow Dash and Applejack, and Beth having a not-so-tragic ending.
Cute art style. It is quite different from the original character designs, which threw me off at first, but I got used to it as the story went on.
Definitely a unique and fun read. I always love retellings so I’m hoping there’s more to come in this series.
