A unique and entertaining retelling of Rapunzel. Ra Pu Zel is a princess who loves food, but isn’t so interested in meeting princes and acting like her parents think she should. So one day, she locks herself in a tower with her dog to enjoy cooking and trying different foods in peace.

I enjoyed the humorous twist to the classic fairy tale. I absolutely loved Pu Zel’s character. She’s strong-willed and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. She gave some serious Elizabeth energy from The Paper Bag Princess.

The artwork is absolutely beautiful. Wonderful level of detail.

At the back is a little more about some of the elements of the story as well as a recipe for pan-fried tofu.

A fantastic read, perfect for fans of fairy tale retellings.
