When I saw Jeremy Whitley was coming out with a new Rainbow Brite story, I was so excited. This volume did not disappoint.

Best friends, Wisp and Willow, bring big adventure to their small town with their amazing imaginations. But when Wisp has a run-in with color-stealing shadows, she’s whisked away to Rainbow Land. Can she help save Rainbow Land and find her way back home?

This was such a fun modern take on the world of Rainbow Brite. It’s definitely different from the original show, so if you’re looking for that nostalgia factor, this probably won’t do it for you. But it’s a nice modern version for a new generation. There are some fun, unexpected twists such as Wisp’s run-in with Starlite and I really enjoyed the humor.

Fun humor, great artwork, and a thrilling story.

A fantastic read. That cliffhanger though. I need Volume 2 stat! Hoping to see more of Willow.
