While I love wearing rubbing gloves while doing the dishes (hooray for no chapped hands!), I hate seeing them sitting next to the sink to dry. They don’t really go with my kitchen’s color scheme. On top of that, things get dripped on them and I end up have to wash the gloves I use for washing. Plus, sometimes they slip into the sink and the insides get wet, which drives me crazy.

But no more! I have had enough of it. Here is a quick way to hide those unsightly gloves while still keeping them in a convenient, easy-to-reach place.

Supplies:

  • Those pesky gloves
  • Scrap cloth
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Super glue
  • Hook and Command strip
  • Optional: clamp/chip clip/clothespin

1. Start with a piece of scrap fabric.
2. Cut the fabric into two strips that are roughly the same size. The length of the strip will determine how big the loop is. I wanted pretty small loops so I went with short strips. You’ll want the strip to be about three times wider than the loop you want.
3. Once you are satisfied with your strips, grab the hot glue gun.
4. Put a line of glue down the middle of the strip lengthwise, then fold one side inward and press to the middle of the strip.
5. Put another line of glue down the middle and fold the other side inward as well.
6. Trim any loose ends then put a dab of glue on one end of the strip and secure to other end to form a loop.
7. If you desire, you can add a layer of glue to the flat end of the loop to prevent it from fraying.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 so you have two loops.
9. Now to attach your loops to the gloves. Dab some super glue to the bottom edge of one of the gloves.
10. Press on the loop.
11. If you would like, you can clamp the loop into place while it dries. Then repeat steps 9-11 on the other glove.
12. While the gloves dry, attach the hook to the inside of the cabinet under the sink or another convenient location.
13. Once your gloves are dry, admire your handiwork (pun intended).
14. Easily store your gloves out of the way, yet still within easy reach.
