What an amazing, unique, unexpected, splendid book. This was jaw-droppingly good and I did not want to put it down.

I’ll admit, as an animal-lover I was a little squeamish when first introduced to the roadkill witch. But Leyh does such an amazing job of creating characters that you will gladly welcome into your heart once you get to know them. Loved the unique approach to respecting the creatures around you and the magic within us all. The themes of acceptance and inclusion run deep through this book, in both humans or animals. Leyh works in so much which really engages the reader and allows them to become immersed in this wonderful story.

There is so much going on in this book with wonderful characters, family mysteries, secrets of the past, discovering oneself and the power within, new friendships, and rekindling old sparks. What makes it even better is that Leyh skillfully weaves these all together. When all the pieces click into place, the result it breathtaking.

Absolutely loved the world Leyh created in this book. The artwork is gorgeous, expressive, haunting, and lovely. The story oscillates between heartwarming and dark, beautifully winding together the variety in life.

I cannot recommend this book enough. As soon as I finished, I already wanted to jump headfirst back into Snapdragon’s world. I hope to visit again soon.
