A beautifully written story, the first book of the Logan Family Saga showcases the bravery, creative problem solving, and resolve of the Logans.
Cassie loves the forest on her family’s property. No matter what her brother says, she knows she hears the trees singing. But then the siblings witness two white men planning to chop down the trees. How can they save the trees while keeping the family safe in 1930s Mississippi?
Well-written and dynamic. I really enjoyed this story. While it’s not as in-depth as Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, it’s a nice short read with a fantastic story based on the author’s own family.
Pinkney’s pencils sketches are wonderfully expressive and match the tone of the story.
A great read. I’m looking forward to reading more stories about the Logans.
