Thanks to Libro.fm for the ALC of this book.
I absolutely loved this book. Well-balanced with humor, tough topics, and heartwarming moments.
Drumming is at the center of Stuy’s life. It’s all about the music. So when his mom’s terrible new boyfriend shoves his drum kit in a corner, Stuy has had enough. He leaves home to stay with his Uncle Lucky. As he settles in, he starts looking for some bandmates. Little does he know, he’ll find something even deeper.
This was such a fantastic read.
Expertly written. I loved the main cast of characters and how close they all became.
Works in difficult themes including illness, abuse, run-ins with the police, and fights with friends.
The audiobook was really fun to listen to. Loved the full-cast recording and the different sound effects and music. It worked really well for this story.
Such a great read. Definitely worth listening to the audiobook for this one.
