A collection of comics spanning 2016 that center around Kaye’s gender dysphoria, early stages of transitioning, and coming into herself. This includes many topics such as the awkwardness of gendered bathrooms, the frustration of being misgendered, being okay with one’s appearance, make up, hair removal, and feeling the need to play up one’s femininity to avoid being misgendered. While documenting her life, Kaye highlights many societal issues surrounding gender and the expectations placed upon individuals.

These comics explore Kaye’s journey through the year, documenting the ups and downs. Though most of the comics are only three panels each, I found myself deeply hurting during the downs and celebrating right along with Kaye during the ups.

An immersive look into the experience of one trans person and her journey through life, dealing with various critics including strangers, friends, family, and herself, and learning to rise above it all.
