Hauntingly strange and wonderfully composed.
Board the Six Thousand Ship and join the crew on their research mission to the planet, New Discovery. After exploring the planet’s surface, they bring strange objects they’ve found back on board to study. Some of the crew becomes deeply attached to these objects. They experience strange dreams and their interactions with each other become more distant and, at times, openly hostile.
Told through statements from various crewmembers, both human and humanoid, the book offers a critique of the workplace and its emphasis on productivity as well as an exploration of what it means to be human.
Such a weird book. At times horrifying, at times beautiful. This is a unique blend of doom, beauty, reflection, fear, and unease.
Such an interesting journey. I really enjoyed this strange little read.
The inspiration for the book is just as fascinating as the story itself.
