When Jiwon stumbles across the bookshop, she must decide whether to take Manager K up on her offer in order to save her mother’s life at the expense of her own.
A sweet, cozy story that offers comfort and closure among the darker themes of thoughts of suicide, death, regret, guilt, and depression.
The layout of the bookshop was really interesting and I enjoyed the different dynamics at play in how the shop was organized and the different types of memories.
I also enjoyed the small cast of characters.
The writing itself was pretty simplistic. Interesting but felt a bit surface level. Not sure if that’s the way it was written or if it was because of the translation, but it never quite pulled me in.
A nice read overall. Straightforward with some very touching moments.
