Illustrated by Wayne Anderson

5 stars

A wonderful book with a sweet story of hope and imagination.

Ward’s lyrical text tells the tale of a man who lives alone in a place filled with waste. Each night he dreams of a tropical forest swarming with life, but each morning he awakes to the world of garbage. After a moment of inspiration, he takes matters into his own hands and creates the world he longs for. Anderson’s gorgeous illustrations pair perfectly with the wonder, hope, and determination of the story.

Really enjoyed the subtle environmental themes and the emphasis on making the world a better place. Great messaging about taking steps to achieve what you want and to never stop dreaming.

A wonderful, sweet book that pulls so much wonder and joy out of what is barren and gloomy.
