A heartfelt tale of friendship, community, and a bit of wonder.
Red the wishtree has a lot to offer: shade, homes for animals, and a place for wishes. But perhaps their most important contribution is one not directly evident. Through their story, they promote acceptance, understanding, and sympathy.
A sweet tale about different people (and animals) coming together to create a sense of community. The message is subtle and avoids the heavy-handed approach of a sappy moral. It’s a feel-good story with a wonderful message, narrated by a wise old tree.
Short chapter length makes it move quickly. There are also quite a few facts about animals, trees, and habitats nicely worked into the narration. It makes for a fun, entertaining learning experience. A wonderful read that captures the imagination.
