I’ll start off by saying I have not watched the film yet. I saw a recommendation for it, but don’t have Apple TV+. The library had a copy of the graphic novel so I thought I’d read it to see if the film was worth pursuing.
After reading the graphic novel adaptation, I am motivated more than ever to see the film. This book is gorgeous! Every page is wonderful and I enjoyed all the glorious details. It opens with a magical sequence of page spreads setting the stage and I was hooked immediately.
A wonderful cast of characters that really give the reader someone to root for. As far as I can tell, the adaptation really captures the characters. I can see their actions playing out and they jump off the page with life. What a great adaptation!
Gorgeous layout, a fascinating story, and wonderful characters. I also enjoyed the historical connections and the ways folklore and mythology were presented.
A great read. Hoping to get a chance to see the film soon. Such a splendid story.
