Absolutely hilarious! I usually have a poker face when I read but this one had me grinning and, at times, even laughing out loud. Loved Fahmy’s style of humor and the way she pokes fun at various issues to bring them to light (stereotypes, misconceptions, ignorance, lack of representation, microaggressions, racism, etc.).

There’s quite a variety of topics covered in this book. Some comics point out common misconceptions about wearing hijab, Islam, or Muslim culture in general. Others show Fahmy’s daily life. And some are absolutely hilarious twists on pop culture. From Star Wars to Harry Potter to superheroes, Fahmy puts a humorous spin on all sorts of fandoms.

The artwork is simplistic but fun. It pairs well with the dialog and moves the scenes along. I especially liked looking at the little background details.

At the end, there is a glossary of words some readers may be unfamiliar with. Terms and definitions are paired with hilarious illustrations, proving Fahmy can even make something as simple as a glossary entertaining.

A fun book that I’m sure is relatable to many and hopefully informative to others (why you shouldn’t go around asking people where they’re really from or telling women wearing hijab how oppressed they are).

Fahmy has a humorous take on daily life in America. Through this humor, she shares a bit of herself and her story. Such a fantastic book that takes hardships and stressors and lets out some of the frustration they cause through humor.
