This book is categorized as Ready-to-Go (pre-pre-level one) and utilizes sight words, word families, and rhythm, rhyme, and repetition. It is a good book for very basic readers.

The book tells a very simple story (most of the story is told in picture form with minimal words). The book mostly consists of asking a question then answering the question in a very repetitive way (“Can Batman find the Penguin? Batman can find the Penguin.”). It’s all very Dick and Jane.

It also contains a short quiz (three questions), to test recall (from the pictures) and rhyming.

This is a good book for kids just learning to read. Just make sure that your kids aren’t above this reading level if you’re giving them this, because the book will come off as very patronizing. This is definitely for beginning readers who are not sounding words out on their own yet.
