2 stars I was a bit disappointed by this graphic novel. The concept was cool, but the execution fell through for me. The thing that really threw me was that the art style changes so much in the comics. It really bugged me that the artwork wasn’t consistent. Sometimes it appears more anime-ish, other times…

2 stars I love the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. This book was just an okay addition to it though. As others have said, it’s basically just trying to get more money out of the series. It doesn’t really add much. It’s just a collection of stories, interviews, and skits. Some are clever, but…

4 stars I actually really enjoyed this book. For starters, Olga is awesome. She loves animals (because humans are gross and horrible- I agree) and wants to be a scientist when she grows up. She accepts all the gross animal things (farts, pee) and isn’t too fazed by them. There are many humorous situations that…

2 stars What in the world did I just read? I never thought I would see the day when I didn’t enjoy a Captain Underpants book. I am honestly questioning reality right now. I’ll start by saying I have enjoyed the Captain Underpants series since I was a child. I read and reread my beat…

2 stars This book was okay. Keplinger did some cool things with stereotypes and labels, but for the most part the book was just boring and repetitive. I watched the movie version at some point and honestly can’t remember anything about it. I saw this in the library and the bright pink spine was just…

3 stars This is one of those books that are tricky to review. I can’t quite put my finger on what I didn’t like. I don’t think there was anything present that I didn’t like per se, it was more of what was lacking. I just didn’t feel that burning in my chest, that rushing…

2 stars I am all for teaching children to share and be kind, but I also think that it is okay to be selfish sometimes. This book goes a little too far for me. Daniel cheers up two of his friends by giving them something he got in order to complete a task. This was…

4 stars A nice story about trying new things and not being afraid of a challenge. I liked this book, because it actually gave some advice about how to tackle something new/different. Instead of just saying that you should do your best and not be afraid to fail, it goes a step further and recommends…

3 stars A cute little board book for fans of Daniel Tiger. In this book, Daniel Tiger shows the reader some of his favorite things to do for Christmas. The illustrations are very cute and the text is simple. Each page asks a question about the picture or text, which helps make the book even…

3 stars A funny book told from the perspective of Lord Garmadon. Petranek perfectly captures Garmadon’s wit, arrogance, and cluelessness, making for an entertaining read. This is basically a set-up to the story from the movie. Nothing much happens in the book itself, it just sets the stage for Garmadon and Lloyd. Still, it was…
