2 stars Not as good as some of the other There Was an Old Lady books, but it was still entertaining. The book did not quite flow as nicely as the other books. There were a few verses that just didn’t sound quite right, like there were too many or too few syllables in the…

4 stars A silly, funny book about a little frog that goes out to buy a baguette alone for the first time. The most impressive thing about this book is how many words Willems found that rhyme with baguette. The other impressive thing is that he we able to take such a simple story and…

5 stars I love this book. It is absolutely adorable. It is a pretty simple story, but the writing is so perfect that it works. In the book, Trixie and her father go out to do laundry. All is fine until Trixie realizes that her stuffed animal, Knuffle Bunny, is gone. She does her best…

4 stars Another adorable little graphic novel adventure featuring Narwhal and Jelly (or rather Peanut Butter and Flloyd). In this one Jelly gets Narwhal to try a new food and hilarious peanut-butter-based misadventures ensue. Only downside: I am going to have this song stuck in my head all day now. But now so are you. You’re welcome….

4 stars Oh my goodness, these books are too freaking cute. So pun-tastic. I love the theme of friendship that runs through the entire book. And the illustrations are simple yet fun. This tiny graphic novel is broken down into three little comics that are perfect for beginning graphic novel enthusiasts. The book also contains…

While I don’t think children should always be required to share treats with their friends, I like the progression of the book and the points Gerald makes (Piggie loves ice cream, Piggie will like this flavor, what if Piggie is sad right now- this will…

4 stars I received this book through The Reading Room/Bookstr in exchange for an honest review. I requested this book because I liked the cover and the idea of a witch who is dyslexic. I was blown away when I finally read it. This is the first book I have read in either of the…

4 stars This book contains a variety of poems, many of which center around or are related to depression and anxiety. Some of my personal favorites include, “explaining depression to my mother a conversation“, “the loneliest sweet potato”, “minnows”, and “follow-up a prayer / a spell“. When I say the book has a variety of poems, I…

5 stars I went to the library today and promised myself I wouldn’t pick up any more graphic novels until I finished the ones I already had. Then I saw Lint Boy and all bets were off. The good news is, I absolutely loved this book. The style is in the same vein as Tim…
